Low Self-Esteem

If you feel that you do not have the general ability to cope with life's ups and downs and feel inadequate, inferior and beat yourself up mentally, then you have low self-esteem which is the same thing as a negative self image. It is hard for you to trust your decisions and you often second-guess yourself: "What if ...", "Maybe I should have ...", "If only ...".
You are missing two important ingredients:

A feeling of self value and self respect.
A feeling of competence and ability.

You don't respect yourself and don't think you are worthy of respect and love. You feel "alone against the world" and that life and God have dealt you a bad deal. You see yourself as a victim. You have low energy and feel "burnt out". You feel that life is a rat race ... and the rats are winning. You feel you are dull, socially inept, have nothing to offer or contribute, are unattractive and unlikable. And you are convinced that others see you that way too.

These negative thoughts about yourself, however, are unwarranted and unsupported by fact. They are in your mind. They are part of a mindset the you have adopted. But these negative feelings about yourself are a fantasy. You often feel inferior to other people, but this is a thought pattern in your mind. It feels true because this is how you have always felt about yourself. You feel comfortable with feeling lousy about yourself because this is the only way you know. But these feelings are the result of faulty thinking and fantasy.
